**To All Whom consider themselves Liberals, Democrats & Even Moderates,**
I write today to share a perspective that I believe has been largely overlooked in political discourse: the role the Democratic Party's disingenuousness has played in shaping a particular strain of sociopathic behavior among women in the United States. A trend that started in the early 90s' in the post crack era, most recently brought to light by the failed campaign and controversial nomination of Kamala Harris as Vice President.
For the last three decades, the Democratic Party has constructed an image of itself as a champion of equality, justice, and social progress. While many of its policies and figures have from appearances alone advanced these values, the party has also, in many ways, fostered an environment of opportunism, insincerity, and hypocrisy. Those values that are spoken don't match with the lofty ideals it claims to uphold. As a result, this vivid contrast has created a culture in which individuals, particularly women, have been incentivized to embrace a survivalist mentality, prioritizing power and personal advancement over truth or integrity.
Kamala Harris’s political career is emblematic of this phenomenon. Like Mrs. Clinton she was not able to speak to a long history of struggle, miseducation and neglect in this country. Initially celebrated as a beacon of hope for women of color, Harris's rapid ascent was driven in part by her ability to act as chameleon- navigating the very hypocrisies and contradictions that the Democratic Party so often perpetuates without major pushback. Whether through her selective emphasis on social justice issues, her record as a prosecutor, or her apparent willingness to say whatever was necessary to appeal to voters, Harris embodied the political pragmatism that has come to define the party. What she and the party fail to realize and forget is that animals that are predators acting like those of prey cannot feed the young. In this way, she has been both a product of and a symbol for a broader trend in which ambition, not principle, has become the guiding force for many women in politics.
In the case of Kamala Harris, we saw how the Democratic Party's expectations of women in positions of power have led to a dehumanizing culture of compromise, manipulation, and superficial alliances. Harris's failed presidential campaign exposed just how far the party’s disingenuous messaging has pushed its candidates to adopt a kind of cold, calculated sociopathy: an ability to mask genuine emotion, exploit social justice rhetoric for personal gain, and pivot rapidly to whatever position will secure the most votes. This willingness to sacrifice one's true self for political advantage is a deeply concerning development, one that betrays the authentic, empathetic leadership women are capable of.
What is perhaps most alarming is how this culture has encouraged a new generation of women to prioritize survival in a system that rewards disingenuousness over real empathy and integrity. Embody by none better than the elder to her the first lady Jill Biden.
Rather than creating space for women to be genuinely compassionate, honest, and bold in their leadership, the party has fostered an environment in which the most successful women are those who can mask their true selves the best—those who have learned to play the game by its most cynical rules: bash the other side into oblivion and coerce them no matter what it takes.
This dynamic is not just a failure of individual candidates, but of the entire political structure that has, for too long, rewarded dishonesty and manipulation. I ask President Clinton & his wife do they not have respect for the culture of people who allowed two career politicians and lawyers to stay relevant? Is Blackface
"I'm a Black Woman"
not as bad if you don't physically paint your face and sing Negro Spirituals? At the same time... We have to ask ourselves: What does it mean for a generation of women to come of age in a system where sociopathy is the key to success?
It is time for a reckoning within the Democratic Party. If women are to lead with integrity, compassion, and authenticity, it won't be from prosecutors, law professors or those chosen by the democratic parties political guard. We cannot continue to tolerate a culture that prizes power over people and self-preservation over principle. If you need help in the future I don't know that I can help you because you have made it clear American Negro men and their children are last on your priority list to empower. Fortunately and Unfortunately I am un-deportable so I will be here.
Extensionally,
Joshua Harris
